Wetland delineator certification adds credibility and customer confidence to a diverse group of wetland-related professions by formally recognizing the training and expertise that goes into delineation. Re-certification keeps you up-to-date on changing requirements and technologies in the field.

The WDCP Difference: University Research and Real World Expertise

The University of Minnesota's Wetland Delineator Certification Program's boasts an award-winning team of faculty and staff and wetland professionals from Federal and State Government, many of whom have contributed to benchmark publications including Wetland Delineation Guidance for Minnesota and Wisconsin, Guidance for Onsite Hydrology/Wetland Determinations, Evaluating Antecedent Precipitation Conditions, Guidance Concerning Drainage Setback and Lateral Effect, and Minnesota Wetland Restoration Plant ID Guide, as well to hundreds of state and federally-sponsored wetland research projects and authoritative publications on plants, soils and hydrology.

In addition to their academic and professional accomplishments, WDCP instructors have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with industry and government professionals, including generous support from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, and performed hundreds of delineations and consulted on numerous high-profile enforcement cases. And because style can be as important as substance, WDCP instructors aim to make learning fun, easy and memorable through hands-on training in the classroom and in the field.

Upon completion of the certification course, participants will be able to make field determinations of wetlands.
