About the Conference

Following the great attendance and interest at the January 2009 2nd Annual Wetland Conference, the Wetland Professionals Association (WPA) and Wetland Delineator Certification Program (WDCP) are organizing the 3rd Annual Minnesota Wetlands Conference, to be held on January 20, 2010, at the University of Minnesota Conference Center. This year’s topic is “Wetlands: New Ideas, New Approaches ”

This conference will focus on new approaches, technology and philosophies that may influence the way we look at wetland science in the future.  Come and share the lessons learned by other wetland professionals.  This is an excellent opportunity for working professionals, researchers, students, scientists, consultants, regulators, and wetland enthusiasts to come together and share their wetland knowledge.

The conference will also host a trade show in the lobby of the Continuing Education and Conference Center.

• MN Certified Wetland Delineators
• MN Wetland Professional Association Members
• Natural resource managers
• Scientists and Students from colleges and universities
• Federal and state agency scientists and regulators
• Local government officials
• Private consultants
• Staff of local, statewide and regional non-profit conservation groups

Continuing Education

Individuals either Certified or In-Training with the MN Wetland Delineator Certification Program will receive 6 hours of continuing education for attending the conference. Continuing Education Units are also offered by the College of Continuing Education toward your personal development. You must fill out a form and turn it in at conference close to earn the CEU's offered by the College of Continuing Education.

Cancellation Fee

Cancellations will be accepted up to January 8, 2010 with a $50 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received after that date forfeit the registration fee.  Cancellation requests must be submitted and recognized in writing via email, mail, or fax.

Accommodations

The room rate for conference attendees is $89 (+tax). When making the reservation tell the hotel you are with the University of Minnesota Wetlands Conference to get the discounted rate. Also, the hotel will arrange
shuttle service to and from the CECC but guests must make the request (We suggest they do this when you make your reservation).
