A calcareous fen community composed of the characteristic assemblage of calcium-tolerant species such as fen beak-rush and whorled nut-rush, as well as other state-listed threatened or special concern species. Soils consist of a sloping, alkaline muck deposit many feet thick with an internal flow of groundwater rich in calcium carbonates. Seminary Fen, Carver Co.
